Meet Pierre: CEO at MIAS Pharma

“It’s about doing it together, learning from each other, and making a real difference.”

How collaboration accelerates impact at Normec

When your work directly contributes to life-changing therapies reaching patients faster, impact is not an abstract idea – it becomes tangible every single day. For Pierre Baviera, CEO of MIAS Pharma, that sense of purpose is what makes working within Normec so meaningful.

MIAS Pharma joined Normec in 2024 with a clear ambition: enabling faster and safer access to breakthrough therapies across Europe and the UK. But for Pierre, what truly makes the difference is what happens after joining: becoming part of a network where collaboration comes naturally.

“At Normec, you’re not working in isolation,” he explains. “You’re part of a group of companies with different expertise, but a shared mindset. That makes it much easier to take on challenges that you couldn’t solve alone.” That sense of being connected across teams, countries and disciplines, is what defines our way of working.

Making impact together

The work at MIAS Pharma is complex and often time-critical. Advanced medicinal products, such as radiopharmaceuticals and cell and gene therapies, need to reach patients quickly and safely. There is little room for delay or for working in silos.

A recent project challenged Pierre and his team to go beyond their usual scope. The client needed support across multiple countries, including batch certification and regulatory expertise. Instead of looking externally, the team reached out to colleagues at Yxion (another Normec company).

“That’s the power of working here,” Pierre says. “You can quickly connect with people who have the right expertise and the same drive to make it work.” By combining their knowledge and capabilities, the teams created one seamless solution.

A culture of ownership and ‘can-do’

According to Pierre, what stands out most about working at Normec is the mindset. “There was a shared belief that even if we hadn’t done something before, we could make it happen,” he says. “That entrepreneurial spirit runs through the organisation. People take ownership, move quickly, and are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone. Challenges are not seen as obstacles, but as opportunities to create value.”

At the heart of it all is trust. Trust in each other’s expertise, and trust that everyone is working towards the same goal. For Pierre, that is what makes working at Normec so meaningful: “It’s not just about delivering a project. It’s about doing it together, learning from each other, and making a real difference.”
