Creating impact by sharing knowledge

As Senior Consultant and Trainer at Normec Maas Goodacre, Ludo spends his days training inspectors and advising clients. Nearly 24 years into his career, his motivation hasn’t changed. If anything, it has only grown stronger: sharing knowledge and helping others develop. “Even after all these years, I’m still learning. That’s what keeps it interesting.”

Finding your place in a changing environment

Ludo joined his current organisation in 2008, which later became part of Normec through an acquisition in 2021/2022. Like any transition, it brought change. But for Ludo, it also reinforced something important: the ability to adapt and find your place again. “Of course, things shift after an acquisition,” he explains. “But I found my rhythm again quite quickly, and I still really enjoy what I do.”

Making it matter

What makes his work truly meaningful is the impact he sees on others. Whether he’s training inspectors or supporting clients, it’s not just about transferring knowledge. It’s about making sure that knowledge sticks and creates value in practice. “Seeing people apply what they’ve learned and grow in their role, that’s what gives me energy,” he says.

Building better solutions

That sense of impact doesn’t happen in isolation. Collaboration plays a big role in Ludo’s work, especially when it comes to developing and improving training programmes. Together with colleagues, he has helped renew courses, set up a new training location and further professionalise the offering. “One idea can spark something much bigger,” Ludo explains. “Someone brings in a concept, and together you build on it. That’s how the best ideas come to life.”

A recent example of this is the development of the AGF Refreshed course, created to keep professionals up to date with the latest legislation and market developments in the sector. It’s a clear reflection of how teamwork and shared expertise lead to tangible results.

Growing together

For Ludo, that’s what working at Normec is all about: building on each other’s strengths and continuously improving together. “It’s always rewarding to create something new as a team,” he says. “That’s where the energy comes from.” Looking back, it’s exactly that combination of knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous development that keeps his work engaging, year after year.
